Irene Mathilda Alaimo

Irene Mathilda Alaimo (Rome, 2000) is a visual artist living and working in Venice. She holds an MA in Visual Arts from IUAV University of Venice. Her practice, primarily focused on video installation, investigates the collapse between documentation, belief, and fiction within contemporary image economies, filtered through digital devices.  Through a multidisciplinary, anthropologically informed approach, she explores new rituals and iconographies in relation to anxieties and desires shaping today’s landscape. Since 2025, she has been an artist-in-residence at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice.  In 2026, she received a Special Mention from Osservatorio Maree as part of the REC Prize.
