Anne Le Troter

Anne Le Troter is an artist who blends installations, drawings, poetry, performance, and sound. She is interested in communities embodying utopian ideals and commitments, such as sperm and egg donors, activist artists advocating for traceability in medical care, artist-inventors of medicines, and 16th-century caregivers who proposed biting to hear. She seeks their co-presence in her installations and highlights the transformations they embody.

Her work has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, the Palais de Tokyo in France, the Curitiba Biennale in Brazil, the Biennale Son in Switzerland, and Bétonsalon, an art and research center in Paris. She was a recipient of the Villa Kujoyama grant in 2021. In 2024, she founded a teaching method called «The School of Biting - How to Bite,» in which professionals discuss why we bite, who we bite, and how we bite. We bite a hand to make it let go, a foot to make it turn back, a tongue to make it withdraw.
