Nefeli Papadimouli

Nefeli Papadimouli is a Greek-born artist and architect based in Paris. She works in a variety of media, from participatory action in public spaces to sculpture and moving images. Her works question the interdependence of social and natural structures, and reflect a certain politics of connection. The artist's research aims to question certain notions that inhabit our societal systems, such as activity/passivity, difference/repetition, union/opposition, individual/collective, human/non-human, and to explore where these dichotomies break down.

Nefeli Papadimouli's new project builds on her ongoing research into the relationship between material bodies and their environment. Focusing on the global ecological crisis, Last Drops aims to explore how solidarity, preservation and transmission are essential to the survival of natural environments facing water scarcity. The project comprises two main series of works: Vessels, large-scale ceramic structures inspired by historical artifacts, and a new series of large-scale wearable textile works inspired by ancient Greek high reliefs.
