Burçak Yakici

Burcak Yakici (1986, Baghdad) is an independent curator and art writer, based in Turkey, with a multicultural approach shaped by a diverse upbringing across cities such as Moscow, Geneva, Aleppo, Oslo, and Strasbourg. Holding a Ph.D. from the University of Strasbourg, specializing in the translation of philosophical texts, she teaches Curatorial Studies at Bilkent University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture. Beyond academia, she completed the Curating Contemporary Art program at Open Dialogue Istanbul-Akbank Sanat. Curated exhibitions in collaboration with the Institut Français, Goethe-Institut, Pro Helvetia Foundation among others. In 2024 she has been granted of a curatorial reserach project supported by Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Visual Arts as part of their International Research Programme.
