Ekin Kano

Ekin Kano is a visual artist based between Istanbul and Berlin. She holds an M.A. in Visual Arts from Sabancı University and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague during her B.A. at Yıldız Technical University’s Faculty of Art and Design.

Kano’s practice explores blurred boundaries between human and non-human bodies, questioning fluidity and materiality. Her first solo exhibition, "My Ribs Heave, Variations on Being" was shown in Istanbul in 2019 as a 16th Istanbul Biennial parallel event. Her second solo show, "Damp Earth" followed in 2020 at Öktem Aykut Gallery. In 2022, she co-authored "Otomy", awarded the Volumes Book Award. She is represented by ARTON Istanbul.
