Estelle Chaigne

Estelle Chaigne is a photographer, a musician and an artist living in Rennes. She explores photographic techniques using 19th century cameras, magnesium flashes, temporary tattoo as well as digital video. Her practice takes the form of installations, videos or performances which bring on set the proper act of photography and its capacity to show the invisible and the latent. She has been invited in several residencies like in Winnipeg Canada, in Jersey, UK or south Italy to develop her work around the invisible, vernacular practices and inhabited bodies, which  leads her to be interested in the connection between body and nature, witchcraft and landscape, rituals and marginal practices.
