Flora Bouteille

Artist, director and independent researcher, Flora Bouteille is the founder of Angels' Front, a company that combines experience design, social psychology and speculative approaches. She develops immersive simulations exploring contemporary hybrid conflicts, with a focus on cognitive warfare, psychological operations and disinformation. She conceives performance as an experimental and participatory device, both a sensory experience and a field of research, aiming to develop reproducible methodological tools and explore the possibility of measurable social effects. Flora Bouteille oversees the company's infrastructure and development alongside artist-composer Victor Villafagne and a multidisciplinary team that evolves according to the projects.

 

The Fondation Fiminco residency will enable the continuation of the DIE & RETRY project, conceived in collaboration with artist and composer Victor Villafagne, which questions how our perceptions and behaviours are shaped – even manipulated – by contemporary image, information and narrative technologies. Her research and creations will result in the design of a large-scale simulation, presented during a solo exhibition at Magasins Généraux, as well as a live performance. These creations will extend the company's performative and cinematographic language towards more ambitious and immersive participatory formats.
