Laura Bartier

Laura Bartier, born in Creil in 1995, has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning textiles, drawing, sculpture and installation, bringing together ancestral craft techniques and new technologies, including Jacquard weaving. Her research explores how weaving can contribute to sustaining the balance of the environments we inhabit, leading her to engage directly with livestock farmers, growers, dyers and weavers. With a deep sensitivity to the meticulous nature and spiritual dimensions of these practices, she creates works inhabited by hybrid species and overlooked narratives that question the ways in which we inhabit the world.
