Lila Neutre
Lila Neutre is a French photographer. She is the first PhD from École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles in partnership with University of Aix-Marseille. Her thesis questions the role of clothing in collective political subversive initiatives. While her visual vocabulary refers to fashion photography and pop culture, her work questions the concepts of identity and self-expression in contemporary societies, and dialectics between the photographer and the photographed. She is a teacher at Parsons Paris – The New School, and she coordinates the graduate research programme at the ENSP in Arles. Her work is exhibited regularly in France and abroad, she exhibited at the French Institute of Kansaï in Kyoto (2014, Japan), at the Agnès b exhibition space in Paris (2017, France), and at Gourvennec Ogor gallery in Marseille (2017, France). In 2018 she was awarded the Bourse du Talent.
