Liu Yu

Liu Yu is a visual artist working primarily with video and spatial installations. In Taiwan, narrative has been fractured by multiple colonizations and Western modernity, leading to a suspended national subjectivity that requires complex historical narratives to be woven together. This lack of cohesion drives her creative work, where narrative plays a central role, prompting reflections on relationships between the internal and external, individual and collective, local and global. This ambiguous space provides fertile ground for new possibilities through the interplay and overlap of various narratives.
