Mahsan Shams
Mahsan Shams (born in 1995 in Tehran) is an independent curator and writer based in Paris. Her practice, inspired by literature, philosophy, and linguistics, lies between poetry and theory, creating exhibitions and performances that connect ideas through experience. Through curating, writing, and collaborations with sound and video artists, she explores the relationships between art, language, and everyday life. Founder of The Lync, a platform for interviews with artists and curators, her work demonstrates how art can question, connect, and transform our understanding of individual and collective experiences.
During her residency at the Fondation Fiminco, Mahsan Shams will focus on research and dialogue, exploring ideas in conversation with other residents. At the same time, she will transform her writings into sound pieces or video works, examining how text moves between poetry and theory to become a sensory experience. Her work aims to foster meaningful exchanges within the residency community while exploring the links between art, language, and shared experiences.
