Margarita Wenzel
Margarita Wenzel was born in East Germany and raised in Iran. In her artistic practice, she explores the subjectivity of knowledge, ruptures in historical narratives, and the complex nature of human perception. She engages in exploratory research without confining herself to a particular medium, creating distinct works that are interconnected to build multi-level narrative structures in complex spatial installations.
During her residency at the Fondation Fiminco, Margarita Wenzel plans to develop formats for collective auditory experiences using sources from oral history archives. Her project emphasizes the democratic significance of 'voice' and aims to make archived voices, often marginalized and confined to specialist spaces, accessible to a broader audience. This work is rooted in attentive listening and inclusive participation.
