Mena Guerrero

Mena Guerrero is a Guatemalan artist based in Antigua Guatemala. With a transdisciplinary approach, she explores painting, installation and performance. Drawing on her personal experiences and environment, she is interested in the interplay between landscape, color and texture to create multi-sensory experiences. Her work focuses on the transformation and continuity of self and body in the spaces we inhabit, conceived as starting points for imagining, situating and creating.

During her residency at the Fondation Fiminco, Mena Guerrero plans to develop a series of paintings that go beyond the traditional visual experience by exploring alternative surfaces and materials. This opportunity is a way for her to develop her artistic practice and deepen her understanding of the relationship between art and sensory experience.
