Paulius Šliaupa

Paulius Šliaupa is a Lithuanian visual artist based in Vilnius and Brussels. His Tatar ancestors settled in Lithuania in the 14th century, and this heritage, combined with his family's background in geology, shapes his work, which ranges from experimental films to object-like paintings.

During his residency at the Fondation Fiminco, Šliaupa will create poetic films and combine them into a multi-channel audiovisual installation. This installation will feature short films, with sound coming from multiple sources, projected onto various objects and textures. This setup will allow viewers to navigate and experience the relationship between images and sounds. The installation will explore modern man's relationship with nature using innovative methods such as drone imagery, photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and night vision cameras.
