Stéphanie Brossard

Originally from La Réunion, Stéphanie Brossard was born in Le Port in 1992. Through her installations, photographs and videos, she explores the impulses of the world. By imagining chaos as a positive momentum, from which new possibilities emerge, the artist exposes the limits and contradictions of a history that is both singular and global.
The artist's concerns are often expressed through the prism of natural disturbances. Mobility, borders, creolization and cross-fertilization are linked to global movements, earthquakes, eruptions, cyclones and other climatic and geological hazards.

In cooperation with Maëlle Galerie, based at the Quartier Culturel in Romainville, this three-month cross-residency will enable Stéphanie Brossard to develop, alongside her personal investigations, the project with her Pays tremblés collective, winner of the French Ministry of Culture's "Mondes nouveaux" program.
