Thomas Laigle
Thomas Laigle is a sound and visual artist based between Berlin and France. Through a transdisciplinary practice, he explores the interactions between natural phenomena,
technology and living beings. Light and sound are often interconnected to the point of forming a single entity. As part of an art/science approach, he collaborates with renowned specialists in entomology, microbiology and oceanology, resulting in works that activate a broader perception of life. His creations take various forms — sound sculptures, installations, interactive devices — favouring a low-tech approach, with a constant focus on the balance between aesthetics, sustainability and sensory experience.
During his residency at the Fondation Fiminco, Thomas Laigle will continue his research into the musicality inherent in fluid dynamics, at the crossroads of hydraulic design and sound composition. By exploring new techniques, he aims to begin creating sound and light installations conceived as autonomous ecosystems, questioning our intimate relationship with energy, time and selfsufficiency.
