PROJET SPECTACLE VIVANT
DIE & RETRY
For this project, artist-in-residence Flora Bouteille invited four theatre students from the Pantin Conservatoire to collaborate with her and her performance company, Angels’ Front, on a Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) project. This initiative forms part of the artist’s residency programme and the development of her solo exhibition and performance, DIE & RETRY.
Over the course of 25 hours of workshops, the participants developed their own characters and worked collectively to integrate them into a shared fictional universe. They then take part in an immersive experience that combines forum theatre, role-playing, and interactive cinema.
Within this fictional world, a team of analysts conducts experiments on a “test family” confronted with situations involving manipulation, misinformation, and strategies of influence. Each family member is paired with a virtual companion, providing a framework for exploring contemporary issues related to artificial intelligence, cognitive manipulation, and digital conflict. The characters’ daily lives are entirely filmed and livestreamed, creating a hybrid format that blends reality television with experimental simulation.
The final public performance will take place in autumn 2026 at the Magasins Généraux as part of Flora Bouteille’s solo exhibition.
