PROJET SPECTACLE VIVANT

Lab Orchestra

Lab Orchestra is a large-scale participatory project organized by the Fiminco Foundation, the Philharmonie de Paris, and La Muse en Circuit (the French National Centre for Musical Creation) as part of Explore, the Philharmonie de Paris biennial dedicated to experimental and contemporary music.

The project aimed to create a participatory amateur orchestra, bringing together around one hundred amateur and professional musicians and offering each participant the opportunity to explore their creativity through a wide range of instruments and objects.

The project involved 34 musicians from the ONCEIM (Orchestra for New Creations, Experimentation and Improvised Music), led by Frédéric Blondy, as well as 8 musicians from the COAX collective. They worked alongside a hundred participants from Romainville of all ages and skill levels. The Fiminco Foundation coordinated three local groups: a class from Fraternité Elementary School, the association La Main dans la Main, and a group of local residents.

Between November 2025 and April 2026, five to six workshops were organized for each group. Participants then came together for three collective rehearsals in preparation for the final presentation.

The final performance took place at the Fiminco Foundation on  April 12th 2026. This large-scale participatory concert brought together professional and amateur musicians in a performance that celebrated both civic participation and contemporary musical creation.
