Le temps du vertige

For the “Culture et Art au Collège” (Culture and Art at the secondary school) program in collaboration with the Fondation Fiminco and the Département de Seine-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis Department), Eva Garcia offered a project around metamorphosis and myths to a 6th form class at the République secondary school in Bobigny.

The artist imagined these workshops as times of discovery, reflection and experimentation, focusing on the medium of engraving. The students were instructed to let their imagination run wild. Thus, through myths, students were invited to re-imagine stories and to create new forms through engraving on metal plates.

In groups of four, the students first created their shapes on paper then moved on to the plate. During the last session, they were able to practice anchoring the plate and printing their production.

The restitution of the project took place on June 14, 2023 at the school in the form of an exhibition.
