LUCARNE 2025-2026
Mémoire et identités
For this project, artist-in-residence Olivia Funes Lastra worked with a class from Gustave-Ferrié High School in Paris, exploring themes of language and identity.
Throughout the workshops, the students engaged with texts by authors whose work addresses these subjects, allowing them to reflect on and appropriate the concepts discussed. Starting from this analysis, they took part in an automatic writing exercise, associating ideas and concepts with keywords in the language of their choice.
The final workshop focused on presenting these written pieces. Students explored aspects of calligraphy and typography, paying particular attention to the visual form of letters and words as they transferred their texts onto fabric.
The final presentation took place at the school and featured an exhibition of the painted textiles, preparatory materials, and texts produced by the students. Other classes and members of the teaching staff were invited to discover the works alongside the students who participated in the project.
