LUCARNE 2022 - 2023
Learning to see the world
The LUCARNE program is the result of a collaboration between the Fondation Fiminco and the Direction des Services Départementaux de l'Éducation Nationale de Seine-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Education Services) to offer artistic and cultural education courses to schools that are far removed from cultural institutions.
Artist Daniel Nicolaevsky Maria wanted to work on issues of belonging, territory and culture. He offered several workshops to students at the République secondary school in Bobigny, with the aim of learning how to properly see the world around us, to understand our territory and how we evolve within it.
During the first workshops, the pupils worked on the notions of the body and movement in space through several dance sessions. They then moved on from the body to photography: from intimate space to public space. The final workshop took place in the Fondation's residency studios, where the students produced silkscreen prints out of their photographs.
The project culminated in an exhibition at the Fondation on April 3rd 2023.
