LUCARNE 2023-2024
FLAGS
The LUCARNE programme is the result of a collaboration between the Fondatin Fiminco and the Direction des Services Départementaux de l'Éducation Nationale de Seine-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Education Services) to offer artistic and cultural education courses to schools that are far removed from cultural institutions.
The FLAGS project is a collective installation based around a personal textile production of kakemonos. Based on the textile work of Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust, each pupil was invited to create a design around a person, a character or an element to which they wanted to pay tribute, to which their identity was attached.
During the first session, the pupils were introduced to the project by learning about Darius' textile work. They then worked on the composition of their kakemonos and the representation of their identity using cut-out coloured sheets so that the following sessions could be devoted to sewing the kakemonos.
The results were presented on 27 May 2024 in the form of an exhibition of the kakemonos on the forecourt of the Foundation.
