YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE LA FABRIQUE DES ARTS PROGRAM
The call for applications is open to both French and international artists and craftspeople working in the fields of visual arts, crafts, dance, music, design, film, literature, research, writing, and curating, with no age restrictions.
Speaking French is not required to join the residency; however, it is recommended to have a good understanding of and ability to speak English in order to communicate with the team and other artists. If you wish, French lessons are offered during the residency to help with integration on site.
Residencies at the Fondation Fiminco require artists to be present on a continuous, daily basis and to live on site for the entire duration of the residency.
Artists may come with their families, but this will incur an additional cost to ensure proper accommodation and support on site.
The rooms are designed for individual occupancy. Guests may be accommodated for a limited period, arranged in advance with the Foundation’s team, subject to availability and the residency schedule, and will require the rental of an additional room.
No, unfortunately pets are not allowed in the Fiminco Foundation’s facilities.
Applications are strictly individual, so it is not possible to apply as a duo or as part of a collective.
You will be able to collaborate with others in the technical workshops and shared workspaces. However, the accommodation conditions remain the same, meaning only one artist will be housed on site. Additionally, the production grant is awarded based on your residency period and project, and will be the same whether you work individually or as part of a collective.
The amount of the production grant allocated to each artist is calculated based on the length of the residency and the proposed project, ranging from €1,250 to €5,000.
Various interdisciplinary showcase events will be organized throughout the residency periods. These will be scheduled by the Foundation’s team based on the proposed projects and the season’s calendar of events.
You will need to indicate a primary practice in order to determine which spaces and technical resources will be required for your accommodation.
For the first time, we are offering several periods and durations of residency to better accommodate everyone's needs. You will need to specify a preferred period and duration based on your availability and the requirements related to your practice or a specific project.
The Foundation favors motivated and detailed projects and reserves the right to suggest an alternative duration or period of residency if it believes that this better suits the proposed project and the season’s schedule.
To apply, a letter of recommendation is required, and you may submit up to three letters maximum. The letter should be written by a professional related to your practice.
To avoid this issue, we encourage you to check the size and format of the documents you are uploading to the Google Form.
A confirmation email is automatically sent after you submit the application form. We recommend checking your spam folder.
